Relation between Pctincrease and Next extent allocation (dictionary managed)

what is the logical relation between PCTINCREASE and NEXT extent setting?

The third extent allocated to a table will be increased by the pctincrease percentage. The forth extent will be increased by pctincrease percentage of the third and so on...So your space allocation for an object keeps on incrementing based on the pctincrease set.

Eg: 
  next extent = 1m
pctincrease = 50%
so, 1st extent = 1M, 2nd extent = 1M , 3rd extent = 1.5M  4th extent = 2.25M and so on...
